The Ultimate Health Management Services Limited has said that all is set to engage 100,000 women on Universal Health Coverage as part of the efforts to expand health insurance services to more states and organizations in the private sector.
The health insurance organization added that affordable and accessible health services for all will transform the lives of the poorest Nigerians and give them chance of living.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ultimate Health Management Services, Otunba Lekan Ewenla, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja at the 2023 Summit of the Association of Nigerian Women in Business Network (ANWBN) and their 10th Anniversary celebration. He was delighted that the women were paying back their premium on a monthly basis in other to support the enrollment of more women.
He further explained that over 75 groups of women-led business associations in Nigeria that are enhancing their visibility and opportunities for growth, promoting trade and investments would be engaged individually.
He said: “We are starting HMO with 100,000 women; as they are collecting their bank form and paying into their premium back account, we will use it to rollover and bring more members.
“The association has about 7million across the country. There are National Health Insurance Authority accrediting health care facilities across the 36 of the federation including Abuja and across 774 local government areas in the country.
“In addition, government is also embarking on aggressive refurbishment of primary health care centers that are available in all 36 states of the federation including FCT, through the National Primary Health Care Development Agency and these facilities are expected to provide health insurance for everyone that enroll on the Health Insurance Program.
“So, what that means is that the network of providers will keep expanding everyday as the program continues. Government to government collaboration is equally very strong and ongoing in this regard. National Primary healthcare agency is working closely with National Health Insurance Authority to ensure that this program is expanded.
In her remarks, the National Coordinator of the association, Angela Ajala, said the major significance of the 10th anniversary was coordinating 4 million women to collaborate and work together for 10 years.
She added that the association was pushing exports to ensure every woman is a global participant in the economy.
Ajala said: “Organizing women is not an easy task. So, having a platform that gives voice to women to advocate the things they want to do, to provide an enabling environment for them to thrive as entrepreneurs is a major milestone, and now, we are celebrating it.
“And we are opening up another decade of the next steps we are taking with our women. We are inaugurating some very special projects today that are dedicated to women.”
